What's New in V-Control Pro 1.7

Preferences - New preferences section is displayed in Setup popover

•     Optionally place transport at top of screen
•     Optionally disable transport controls
•     Optionally disable fader double-tap
•     Optionally set for transparent jog wheel display
•     Optionally set for Cubase +12 dB max gain

Counter Jog Control - Pro Tools and Cubase and some other apps now let you drag across the counter to jog/scrub/shuttle forward or back.

Draggable Multi-Panel - The multi-panel window can now be dragged and placed anywhere.

Smarter Multi-Panel Display - The multi-panel window now remembers which mode is selected when a user exits V-Control Pro and re-launches.

Jog/Shuttle Wheel - All DAW modes have a jog/shuttle wheel.

• Different apps have different functionality with some having Scrub and Shuttle modes selectable at the top of the wheel. If Scrub and Shuttle are not selected the wheel Jogs thru the project. In some apps dragging in the counter also allows Jog/Scrub/Shuttle depending on the setting for the Jog Wheel.  
• Audition, Final Cut 7, and Media Composer have a fixed wheel in the user interface.
• All other DAW modes have an optional wheel.
• Two-finger double-tap the mixer to show/hide the jog wheel for all other DAW modes.
• Two-finger drag to quickly activate and control shuttle mode

The basic process for exporting 5.1 surround is to export a six channel audio file by setting six as the number of outputs for the Sequence and assigning the tracks accordingly.

• For existing Sequences, open the Sequence Settings and select the Audio Outputs tab.

• Select the number of tracks to export in the Outputs pop-up menu.

1. For 5.1 that would be six tracks to export.

• Set all channels to dual mono with no down-mix (unless you don’t have a six channel output connected and need to monitor in stereo).

• Control+click (Right+click) on each audio track in the area between the track number and the lock icon.

1. You should see a pop-up menu including an Audio Output option.

• Use this to assign the track to one of the 6 audio outputs you just enabled.

• From the File menu choose the Export submenu and select QuickTime.

1. The Exported movie will have six audio tracks included, plus a single video track if video was selected for export.

• Click Save to export.

• From the File menu choose the Export submenu and select Audio to AIFF(s).

• Select Channel Grouped in the pop-up menu (the default).

• Click Save to export.

1. The Audio tracks will be exported to six individual AIFF files numbered 1-6 after the base name entered for export (by default the Sequence name).

I got this from Digital Production Buzz Newsletter from December 27, 2006. I looked everywhere for this tip on-line and I couldn’t find a link to it. I think it is exclusive to their Newsletter. If you want more tips they do have a wealth of tips for every pro app in the FCP Suite. It cost for $14.95, but well worth it. They also have a great podcast that talks about Final Cut Pro and other apps in the suite. Pretty much anything to do with production. Take a listen to it.
To export multiple tracks for surround sound into one QuickTime movie, or as separate AIFF files, start by setting the number of outputs for the Sequence. This can be done as a preset in the User Preferences dialog’s Audio Outputs tab. Set the default number of outputs for new Sequences here also.
Back in the sequence timeline:
Assignment can also be done in the Audio Mixer window.
To export to one QuickTime movie (with vision)To Export to Individual AIFF filesBefore exporting it’s useful to create a folder for the exported files to keep them tidy and organized in a group.
Once your tracks are assigned, use Export -> Audio to AIFF(s)… to export to individual AIFFs for each channel. In the output dialog, be sure and select Channel Grouped for config., and adjust sample rate and bit depth to the setting appropriate for your source.

Macでブルーレイを使用してみる。

Macでブルーレイを使用してデータを保存する方法を試してみた。

ドライブは知人より借りる。

BD-Rは100円均一のお店で購入。

MacOSは10.6.8

Macの純正で焼こうとしましたが、不安だったためToast10にはBDに焼けるようになっているのでToast10で焼く。

約30分程度で23GBを焼く事が出来ました。

焼けたかどうかと、データをコピー出来るか確認をしようとしたところ、BD-Rが認識されない。

何度行っても…夜も遅かったので諦めて翌日にチェックする事にしました。

翌日ネットで調べてみると、どうやらToast10で作成されたBD-RはToast10を立ち上げないと認識されないという事がわかった。

再度、ドライブをつないでBD-Rを入れると始めに

「このフォーマットは対応していません」と出るので「無視」を選択してからToast10を立ち上げました。

そうすると、BD-Rが認識されました。

コピーのテストをしたところ約30分かかってディスクトップにコピーが出来ました。

1枚25GBなので、そこそこの仕事のデータをそのまま1枚のディスクに入れる事が出来ます。

これはかなり便利。

とりあえず、メディアを多く購入してもっと試してみます。

MDR-V6

ずっと使用していた、MDR-900STの右耳が聞こえなくなったため、新しいヘッドフォンを購入することにしました。

今回はどのようなものを購入しようかとインターネットで調べていたところ、SONY MDR-V6という国内未発売のヘッドフォンを見つけました。元々MDR-900STを使用していたので、その代わりになるということで購入を決めました。決めた決定的なものとして、値段がMDR-900STの半値だったということもあります。

アマゾンで購入を決めました。

早速届きました。SONY MDR-V6

ヘッドフォンを購入したのは数年ぶりだったので、久しぶりの新品です。

布に鎮座していて、高価な雰囲気が漂っていました。

このSONY MDR-V6はジャックが3.5mmと変換の6.3mmでした。それと、MDR-7506と同じようにヘッドフォンは収納に便利になっています。これが欲しかった。

ヘッドフォンの横を見ると、SONY MDR-V6としっかり書かれていました。パッと見ただけだとMDR-900STと間違えます。

ただし、国内未発売のため、保証書はアメリカオンリーとなっています。故障したらどうしようもないですね。こればかりは故障しないようにと祈るしかないです。

で、これからはこれを使用しようと思います。ヘッドフォンを装着してみたが耳にしっかりとフィットしていますが、若干MDR-900STのように頭にフィットはしていなく、頭上が少しあたっている感じがしました。

これから長時間使用してみて、その都度カスタマイズをしていこうと思います。
